Dive Wastwater

Dive Wastwater

Sunday 5th November Weather forecast good and dry  the plan was to visit Wastwater  in the lake district. With a  3 hour drive  from Queensbury the plan was to set off early to ensure we were their by 9:00 to ensure we could park.

Planning for this trip took place over a few weeks carefully working out run times and gas calculations to enable some members to extend there depth limits and others to get more experience.

With a shelf of 18m-19m it was  suitable for all qualified divers, care needs to be taken beyond the cliff face where it descends up to 70m.

Although the water is clear as depth progresses the lake gets dark, so a torch is essential, and with nothing nearby their is a need to be totally self sufficient.  taking  all the food, drink and equipment  needed for the day, think about keeping warm on the surface interval.

Mobile phone coverage is nearly non-existent therefore it is essential to take a first aid kit,AED and O2 kits

the water temp was expected to be around 11°C, a bit cooler than Capernwray.
